Wabash Valley PWP 734 Newsletter April
I hope you all had a great start to the New Year. It snowed yesterday but tomorrow I have to mow my yard. Indiana, right?
I want to welcome two new members, Ed Bocock and Rex Hogan. Thanks for joining. We now have 22 members.
Here is an interesting fact; there are only a total of 950 members in all of PWP. We have 2.3% of them. If we add our 22 and Marion’s 32 we have 5.6% of all the members between us. I hope that the International Officers figure out how to stop the downward trend in total membership.
I want to thank all those who help make the February dance a success. It is great to know that Vay and I can get away for a couple of months in the winter.
Our elections were held January 16th, 2016. The 2016 officers are:
Fred Bohm President
Sharon Amann VP Admin
Oliver Lambert VP Membership
Edna Young Secretary
Vay France Treasurer
Jim Little E&G Chair
The Feb. dance had 59 dancers and netted $8.00. The March dance had 62 dancers and netted $31.00.
Justin Kelly son of member Sharon Amann and grandson of member Edna Young lost everything in a house fire. The Board voted to donate $50 to a benefit fund.

PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION OF PARENTS WITHOUT PARTNERS, INC. AS CONSCIENTIOUS SINGLE PARENTS, it is our primary endeavor to bring our children to healthy maturity, with the full sense of being loved and accepted as persons, and with the same prospects for adulthood as children who mature with their two parents together. ADULTS AND CHILDREN in single parent families face unique and challenging circumstances. For children to mature and flourish in the absence of either parent requires an added measure of love, understanding and sound guidance. To provide these is a responsibility inherent in parenthood, regardless of martial status. THE CHALLENGE OF PROVIDING for both ourselves and our children a nurturing family life is often complicated by established patterns of community life. Consequently, a need for community resources to assist single parents in communicating and meeting their own special circumstances exists. THEREFORE, IN THE CONVICTION that we can achieve this end through working together, through the exchange of ideas and through the mutual understanding, help and companionship which we find with one another, we have established "PARENTS WITHOUT PARTNERS, Inc. "to further our common welfare and further our common welfare and the well-being of our children.
INFORMATION FOR PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS THE PROBLEMS ARE MANY in bringing up our children alone, contending with all the adjustments and emotional conflicts arising out of widowhood and separation. PWP, Inc., is the only national and international organization that exists to study these problems. Through programs of discussions, professional speakers, study groups, publications and social activities for families and adults, real help is provided single parents in reshaping their lives. WHO IS ELIGIBLE? To quote our Bylaws: "To be eligible for membership in PWP, a person must be the parent of one or more sons or daughters, and be single by reason of death, divorce, separation or never married, or other reason which may be deemed acceptable by PWP, Inc." Custody of children is not a factor. HOW CAN I JOIN? To find out if a Chapter exists in your vicinity, write PWP's International Office. Note: Unless a local group is officially chartered by PWP, Inc., it is not a Chapter of Parents Without Partners, Inc.
